Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics

INTRODUCTION

‘Conservative Dentistry ‘or Operative Dentistry as its popularly known, is a branch of dentistry which deals with the diagnosis,treatement and prognosis of those defects of teeth which do not require full coverage restorations for correction. These restorations are done esthetically, functionally and anatomically, fulfilling the general well being of the patient.Dr.G.V Black is the founding father of Operative Dentistry ‘Endodontics’ is a sub branch of operative dentistry which deals with the the Disease of the [pulp and periapex.When there is irrepairable damage to the tooth from injuries such as dental caries, trauma, deep restorations or developmental anomalies, the pulp and its contents get affected, necessisating the practice of endodontics or root canal treatments.
